February is coming. And with it, a chance to do something meaningful, for yourself and for others.

We're excited to announce the 2026 SOBRUARY Challenge, running from February 1st through February 28th. It's 28 days of intention. 28 days of connection. And a simple $28 pledge that goes directly toward supporting people in recovery.

Whether you're deep in your sobriety journey, sober-curious, or just looking to reset after a long winter, this challenge is for you. And yes, allies are absolutely welcome.

Let's break down what SOBRUARY is all about.

What Is the SOBRUARY Challenge?

SOBRUARY is our annual February challenge that combines three powerful things:

  1. A sober month – 28 days alcohol-free
  2. A daily mindful practice – like yoga, meditation, or breathwork
  3. Community connection – showing up for yourself and others

It's not about perfection. It's about presence.

NamaStay Sober Community Wellness Event

The sober-curious movement has been growing fast. Research shows that 30% of Americans participated in Dry January in 2025, a 36% increase from the year before. People are starting to ask better questions about their relationship with alcohol. And they're finding that taking a break, even a short one, can be incredibly clarifying.

SOBRUARY builds on that momentum. But we're adding something extra: mindfulness and community.

Because going alcohol-free for a month is one thing. Doing it while building a daily practice and staying connected to people who get it? That's where the real magic happens.

How It Works

Joining SOBRUARY is simple:

Step 1: Make your $28 pledge

Head over to our SOBRUARY donation page and make your pledge. That's it. You're in.

Step 2: Commit to 28 days sober

From February 1st through the 28th, you'll go alcohol-free. No pressure to be perfect, just honest effort.

Step 3: Add a daily mindful practice

This could be yoga. Meditation. Breathwork. A quiet walk. Whatever helps you stay grounded. Even five minutes counts.

Step 4: Connect with the community

Join our NamaStay Sober Collective on Skool to check in, share wins, ask questions, and stay accountable. You don't have to do this alone.

Why 28 Days?

There's something powerful about a month-long commitment. It's long enough to build a habit. Short enough to feel doable.

February is also the perfect time for a reset. The holidays are behind us. New Year's resolutions are starting to fade. SOBRUARY gives you a fresh start, right when you need it most.

And here's the thing: you're not just doing this for yourself. Your $28 pledge supports NamaStay Sober's recovery programs. That means free yoga classes, scholarships, wellness memberships, and community support for people who need it.

Every pledge adds up. Our goal for 2026 is to raise $2,800, that's 100 people joining the challenge. Can we get there? We think so.

Who Is SOBRUARY For?

Everyone.

Seriously. This challenge is open to:

  • People in recovery (at any stage)
  • People who are sober-curious
  • People who want to take a break from drinking
  • Allies who want to support the recovery community
  • Anyone looking to build a more mindful February

You don't need to identify as an alcoholic. You don't need to have a "problem." You just need to be willing to show up for 28 days.

We've seen SOBRUARY bring together all kinds of people, longtime sober folks, first-timers, yoga lovers, meditation skeptics, and everyone in between. That's what makes it special.

Day by Day: A Decade of Strength

Our 2026 Partners

We're grateful to be partnering with some incredible organizations for this year's challenge:

BREATHE Yoga

BREATHE Yoga brings accessible, trauma-informed yoga to communities across the region. Their classes are designed to meet you where you are, no experience necessary. If you're looking to add yoga to your daily practice this February, they're a great place to start.

Boston Yoga Union

Boston Yoga Union is all about making yoga available to everyone. They offer sliding-scale classes, community events, and a welcoming space for all bodies and backgrounds. Perfect for SOBRUARY participants who want to explore yoga in a supportive environment.

FitMind

FitMind is a meditation app built on neuroscience. It's designed to help you build a sustainable meditation practice, one that actually sticks. If you're more into meditation than yoga, this is a great option for your daily mindful practice.

Together, these partners help make SOBRUARY a well-rounded experience. Whether you're into yoga, meditation, or a mix of both, you'll have support.

Where Does the Money Go?

Every dollar raised through SOBRUARY goes directly to NamaStay Sober's recovery programs.

Here's what that looks like:

  • Free yoga classes for people in recovery
  • Scholarships for wellness memberships and retreats
  • Community events that bring people together
  • Online resources through our Skool community

We believe that recovery is about more than just not drinking. It's about building a life worth living. That means movement, mindfulness, and meaningful connection.

Your $28 helps make that possible for someone who might not otherwise have access.

What You'll Get Out of It

Let's be real: 28 days sober isn't always easy. But it's worth it.

Here's what past participants have said about SOBRUARY:

  • Better sleep. Alcohol messes with your sleep more than you might realize. A month off can be a game-changer.
  • More energy. Less grogginess, more clarity.
  • Stronger habits. Building a daily mindful practice creates momentum that lasts beyond February.
  • Deeper connections. There's something special about doing this with a community.
  • A sense of purpose. Knowing your pledge is helping others makes the challenge feel bigger than yourself.

You might also discover some things about your relationship with alcohol. Some people realize they don't miss it as much as they thought. Others decide to make longer-term changes. And some go back to drinking in March, but with more awareness.

There's no wrong outcome. Just honest exploration.
